Rivet & Role Overview

Rivet is an early-stage, venture-backed SaaS startup building sophisticated software for healthcare providers to make the U.S. healthcare system more transparent via a reimagined payer intelligence and patient billing infrastructure.

We're looking for a product manager to join our growing team and help deliver on our ambition to simplify healthcare billing. As Rivet's third product manager, you'll work closely with one of our two engineering teams to define, design, and deliver products that help patients understand the cost of care, and help healthcare providers get paid.

Responsibilities

  • Be a subject matter expert on Rivet's customers, product, and market; use that knowledge to define the roadmap for your product areas and to influence Rivet's overall product strategy
  • Lead product discovery efforts (market research, user interviews, sales feedback, concept testing, etc.) to identify, define, and validate new ideas for your areas of the product
  • Define scope of new features, and write clear and concise requirements
  • Work with the product designer and engineering lead to rapidly design, test, and iterate on elegant user experiences
  • Work with the engineering lead to break work down into discrete chunks and lead estimation meetings
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog of work to be done, review and prioritize new bugs, features, and tasks
  • Plan 2-week development cycles and ensure all work is ready for development (well-defined scope, designs, analytics tracking, acceptance criteria) before the cycle starts
  • Work closely with your product team (designer, engineers, QA) to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery of your roadmap
  • Partner with the Customer Success team to resolve customer issues and create internal tools to streamline our high-touch customer onboarding and set-up process
  • Ensure that Marketing and Sales are successful by delivering a great product and equipping them with the narratives and training required to create compelling go-to-market materials
  • Measure, report on, and optimize the usage of your product

Why Rivet

  • Make the world a better place - you'll spend your days helping people understand and pay for high-quality healthcare
  • Ownership and accountability - we'll give you the reigns and hold you responsible for delivering great results
  • Wear lots of hats - we're small and scrappy, so you'll learn first-hand about the different aspects of a SaaS company
  • Ship product early and often - you'll learn which ideas worked or not so you can iterate quickly to build a great product
  • Work with a best-in-class team - we're driven, smart, hard-working, and we have a ton of fun together
  • Be yourself - we recognize and celebrate our differences, and actively work to increase equity and inclusion for all people and perspectives
  • Mentorship from seasoned leaders - our leaders will challenge and support your growth and development
  • Great benefits - including flexible PTO, healthcare coverage, and stock options

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience as a software product manager in an agile development environment
  • Comfortable with and effective at frequent customer interaction
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and productize deeply complex topics (like the logic of how health insurance companies determine how much to pay for a particular claim)
  • Ability to use quantitative data to inform decisions
  • Demonstrated track record of achievement and leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excited to work in a small and scrappy team where you'll wear lots of hats and do whatever needs doing to help us succeed

Bonus

  • Experience working for a SaaS company or early-stage technology startup
  • In-depth knowledge of the US healthcare system, especially eligibility and benefits
  • Experience working on patient-facing experiences
  • Experience working on payments or fintech
  • Experience using JIRA
  • Experience as a product manager for a highly technical product
  • Experience using product analytics tools
